Marking the second anniversary of his confirmation as the 5th Executive Chairman of the EFCC, the office publishes a scorecard of the Commission’s work between October 2023 and October 2025.
In twenty-four months the Commission secured 7,503 convictions and recovered over ₦566 billion for the Nigerian state and for victims of fraud, alongside significant recoveries in foreign currencies and digital assets. More than 29,240 investigations were opened across its commands.
Institutional reforms in the period include the establishment of the Directorate of Fraud Risk Assessment and Control, expanded forensic and cybercrime capacity, and deepened partnerships with law-enforcement agencies at home and abroad.
“Convictions are a symptom of a disease we must ultimately prevent,” Mr. Olukoyede said. “The fight against corruption is a relay. My duty is to run my leg faithfully and hand over a stronger baton.”
